Twenty five talented children submitted works of art for the Hamilton County Soil and Water Conservation District’s third annual Earth Hour Poster Contest.

This year’s theme was “Shine a light on climate action.” Earth Hour is a global event that took place on March 19, from 8:30 – 9:30 p.m., where people turned off non essential lights to raise awareness of the planet.

Posters were ranked on use of theme, originality, and artistic expression.

“This year's Earth Hour posters show, once again, that our young citizens understand why it is important to protect their world,” said judge Kathy Stewart. Each and every poster drew attention to the theme of Shine a Light on Climate Change, and, looking at the evidence of deeper learning, I'm confident that each participant was eager to share the importance of Earth Hour with family and friends.”
