WILDLIFE HOUSES

Bat House -
Fully assembled and ready for mounting to a pole, tree, or the side of a building. Approximate size 13"X24"X3" painted black. Why would you want bats hanging around? One brown bat is capable of consuming 1,000 mosquitoes in an hour. These shy, gentle mammals decrease the number of night-flying insects that bite humans and infest crops. Bats also pollinate flowers and propagate vegetation. White Nose Syndrome, a fungus that is believed to disturb bats during hibernation, may be the cause of severe bat mortality in the Northeastern US. Bats become emaciated as fat reserves are depleted, and some caves have reached 97% mortality. Help to revive our Adirondack bat population and have a more enjoyable outdoor experience knowing that your neighborhood bats are making a dent in insect pests.
