SHRUBS (SEEDLINGS)

AGE: Following each plant name are two numbers in parentheses. These numbers represent the age of that specific plant. EXAMPLE (2-3) means that the plant was a seedling for 2 years and then was transplanted for an additional 3 years for a total age of 5 years. (2+3=5)

 

American Cranberry - Dainty leaves turn a lovely burgundy in winter.  Delicious fruit laden with antioxidants can be used in sauces and juice.  Full sun to partial shade.  Moist, well drained, acidic, high organic soil.  Grows to 10’.

    



 

Arrowwood Viburnum -  Deciduous, vigorous shrub provides food for birds and wildlife habitat.  In early summer clusters of creamy white flowers are produced, followed by bluish-black berries and glossy red foliage in the fall. Matures at 15 ft.

    


 

Red Chokeberry - Bright red, glossy fruit throughout the fall and winter months.  This shrub can be used as a border or planted in groupings.  Highly adaptable to many soil types. Tolerates wet or dry, full or half shade conditions. Reaches 10’ in height.

   

Red Osier Dogwood - A distinctive shrub known for its showy crimson twigs in winter.  In spring, attractive  clusters of white flowers bloom and produce pea sized white fruits.  Prefers moist soils and full to partial sun.  Reaches 7 - 9'.
