AGE:
Following each plant name are two
numbers in parentheses. These numbers
represent the age of that specific
plant. EXAMPLE (2-3) means that the
plant was a seedling for 2 years and
then was transplanted for an additional
3 years for a total age of 5 years.

American Elderberry (2-0) - A
fast growing shrub with large,
flat-topped white flowers that bloom in
mid summer followed by purple-black
berries. Can grow in a variety of
different soil conditions in full sun.
Berries can be used for jellies, pies
and wine. Matures at a height of 12’.

Nannyberry (2-0) - In late
spring, white flowers bloom. Throughout
the fall and early winter, fruit
attracts birds. Nannyberry is adaptable
to a wide range of conditions and is
very durable. Grows to be 20'.
Red Osier Dogwood (2-0) - A
distinctive shrub known for its showy
winter color of crimson twigs. In
spring, attractive clusters of white
flowers bloom and produce pea sized
white fruits. Prefers moist soils and
full to partial sunlight. Reaches 7 -
9'.

Winterberry Holly (3-0) - This
shrub can be considered the "queen" of
the fruiting shrub world when ranked for
ornamental value. The female plants
produce bright red berries in early fall
that last throughout the winter. Prefers
full sun and acidic soils, but will
tolerate wet, swampy conditions. Grows
to a mature height and spread of 6-12’.
For berry production, plant at least 5
seedlings within 30’ of each other.
