Dry Hydrant Design

A dry hydrant is a structure that allows fire departments to use surface waters to fill tanks instead of pressurized municipal systems.  Fire departments can efficiently access these reliable water sources during emergencies.  The HCSWCD assists fire departments with the design, surveying, and installation of dry hydrants.  Call 518-548-3991 for more information. Three new dry hydrants were installed on South Shore Road, Fish Mountain Road, and Fawn Lake Road in Lake Pleasant for the Lake Pleasant Fire Company in 2008.
